Specific Cost Issues

  1. What costs are allowed for utility locates and potholing/coring to intrusively locate or “daylight” utilities?
  2. Are costs associated with preparation of Reimbursement Applications (RAPs) eligible for reimbursement?

1.      What costs are allowed for utility locates and potholing/coring to intrusively locate or “daylight” utilities?

Reasonable Cost Guidelines (4-7-3) allow 8 hrs for utility locates at the Staff Scientist level (subcontractor oversight).  OPS will allow utility locates and coring/potholing.

Utility Locates $200 per event for surface location & marking of utilities (subcontactor).
Coring/Potholing The greater amount of $802 per day or $20 per foot, not to exceed $1,489 per day.  Mileage at $2.10 per mile

2.       Are costs associated with preparation of Reimbursement Applications (RAPs) eligible for reimbursement?

Yes; costs associated with the preparation of RAPs that are submitted after April 1, 2004 are reimbursable at 1% of the total amount of the approved application (after any deductibles and percent reductions) up to a maximum of $2,000 per event.  These costs will not be included on the EFS, but should be coded as PWC 4, AC z., TLC 15 in RAPs.
